Congratulations to players, coaches, and staff on an outstanding 2011 baseball season! The Mustangs ended the 2011 campaign with a second place finish in District 9-4A, a Bi-District playoff series win and a final record of 25-9.
The 2011 season came to a close for the Mustangs on Saturday May 14th as the squad was unable to hold off the Hillcrest Wildcats in the Area round of the baseball playoffs. The Mustangs took control of the series with a solid 11-2 win on Thursday at Creekview and looked to be in control of game 2 until the Wildcats mounted a late game rally to even the series 1-1 with a 13-8 win. On Saturday, the Mustangs were unable to match runs with Hillcrest and dropped the game and series with a 6-3 loss

The Mustangs are moving on to meet Hillcrest High School in the Area round of the 2011 playoffs after eliminating McKinney High School in Bi-district play. Creekview took game 1 of the 3 game series on Thursday night at home 11-1 only to see McKinney even everything up at their place 7-2 on Friday night. The Mustangs took the deciding game 3 of the series 4-3 at McKinney Boyd on Saturday to advance to the Area round of the playoffs. Game dates and times to be announced.

On Wednesday April 20th a showdown game to determine first place in district 9-4A was played as the Mustangs hosted Frisco Wakeland at Creekview.
This week the Mustangs continued to keep pace atop district 9-4A with road wins over RL Turner and Frisco Liberty. On Saturday the Mustangs honored the 2011 baseball senior class along with their families during ceremonies prior to hosting Wylie East in a non–district game. The team rallied back from a 5-0 deficient in the bottom of the 7th in dramatic fashion as senior Will Henning capped the 8-5 victory with a 3 run walk-off home run. After the game the team and their families joined together to wrap up the day of festivities with a cookout.
The Mustangs opened the second round of district play just like they did the first by beating Frisco Heritage at Heritage 16-1 on Tuesday and followed that up with a close 4-3 win over Frisco Centennial at home Friday night. TC Byron Nelson traveled to Creekview for a non-district game on Saturday.
On Wednesday Mar 30th the team remained atop the 9-4A standings by taking down co-district leader Frisco at home 7-3. Friday April 1st the Mustangs traveled to Kelley Field to face long time rival Newman Smith. Behind a strong pitching performance by Matt Herrick the Mustangs came away with a rare win on the Trojan’s home field 1-0. On Saturday the team hosted Wylie in a non-district game.
The Mustangs stayed on top in District 9-4A with a 14-7 victory over Frisco Liberty on Tuesday night. On Friday the Mustangs dropped into a first place tie with Frisco Lakeland and Frisco after losing their first district game 8-0 at Lakeland. On Sat the team hosted former Creekview baseball coach Brian Jones and his Jesuit Rangers in a non-district game.
